Marika Scandola works at “Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center as a Support Officer at the shelter of unaccompanied children, in Nicosia. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Languages, Cultures and Linguistics obtained at the University Ca’ Foscari in Venice (Italy), and a Master Degree in International Cooperation, Protection of Human Rights and Ethno-cultural Heritage obtained at the University of Bologna, Ravenna Campus (Italy).
During my Master degree she did an internship at the social cooperative ‘Persone in Movimento’ in Ravenna (Italy) as a teacher assistant within the Italian Governmental Programme SPRAR (Protection System for Refugees and Asylum Seekers). After the degree, she was selected for a traineeship in Brussels within the Erasmus+ programme and she worked at ‘Social Economy Europe’, the representative body of social enterprises and organizations in Europe.
In 2019 she took part to the ‘Servizio Civile Universale’ programme in Verona (Italy), working for one year at the Italian branch of the humanitarian NGO CINI (Child in Need Institute). In 2020 she went to Kolkata, in India, to have a field experience at the headquarters of CINI to monitor the humanitarian projects implemented in the slums.
In 2020 she started her ‘European Solidarity Corps’ volunteering experience at the shelter of HFC which ended in November 2020.
