Donata Gottardi is Full Professor of Labour Law at the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Verona and Head of the same Department since 2010. She was Member of the European Parliament, in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, from 2006 to 2009. Her fields of research include European law, industrial relations, anti-discrimination law and equality rights. Among her most recent publications, essays on the FIAT case, the principle of equality in the EU law, the relationship between employment rights and competition in EU law, the protection of migrant workers and posted workers, women’s rights, maternity and paternity protection, work-life balance and affirmative actions. She is currently the national coordinator of the project LEGAL_frame_WORK. Employment and Legality in an Inclusive Society (PRIN Call 2010-2011), which involves 11 Italian universities and the partnership with 14 European universities, and the coordinator of the project Close the Deal, Fill the Gap (PROGRESS Programme of the European Union, call for Proposals JUST/2013/PROG/AG/GE Gender Pay Gap), which involves the Queen Mary University of London (UK) and the University of Silesia (PL), as well as the partnership of trade unions at national and European level.
