Ioanna Dimou is working at Hope for children since February of 2019, in the Foster Care department, where she is currently working on the psychological assessments of the potential foster parents. She is also offering individual and group psychoeducation sessions for foster parents, psychological support for foster parents and psychotherapy for children.
Ioanna is a clinical psychologist. She has completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Cyprus and her postgraduate studies in Clinical psychology and Psychoanalysis at the Paris Diderot University in Paris.
During her internship, she worked at the "Sainte-Anne" psychiatric hospital, in a ward for adults and adolescents and in the "Armaillé" medico-psychological centre of the "Maison Blanche" hospital. Moreover, she has worked in shelters with homeless people, asylum seekers and refugees.
In her postgraduate studies she has been specialized on trauma, exile and social exclusion, and her dissertations concerned the trauma of war and the trauma of sexual abuse. In Cyprus, Ioanna has worked in the private sector, and she is also collaborating with the Association "Ystera irthe I Anoixi" offering psychological support to blood cancer patients and their families.
