Maria Anastasiou works at “Hope For Children” CRC Policy Centre, as a Support Officer for unaccompanied children at “Home For Hope” in Nicosia.
She holds a Bachelor degree in “Social Work” from the Nicosia University of Cyprus where she had the opportunity to study and work with various vulnerable groups of people.
She has been volunteering to the Immigrant Reception Center, the Red Cross, the Day Care Center of Alzheimer for the elderly and programs of the Multipurpose Municipality Center of Nicosia such as the Aglatzias Special School, the Counseling Center, the Summer Child Program and the European Program of Informing and Supporting Immigrants named KEPLIM.
Her professional experience includes the SKE (Community Welfare Council) of Geri for the period of two years and the National Guard where she had the experience of almost four years.
Maria attended various seminars, workshops and trainings about disabilities, syndromes, emotions, social threats, children’s rights, child abuse, physically focused therapies which helped to enrich her knowledge and professional development.
