Stelios Papachristoforou works at "Hope For Children" CRC Policy Center as a Social Worker at the "Children's House". He is responsible for the social support and rehabilitation of children and their families in cases of sexual abuse. Stelios has a degree in Social Work (BA Social Work) and he is completing his Master degree in Social Administration specialized in Clinical Social Work. Furthermore, he obtained a specialized seminar in School Social Work.
During his first and second practice he worked at the elderly day center of the Nicosia Municipal Multifunctional Foundation. Additionally, he worked at the Nicosia Municipal Multifunctional Foundation for seven years as a professional Social Worker in various programs. He worked as a counselor at the «Support Center of Third County Nationals – KEPLYN», while he was providing his services as a coordinators assistant in the program Ouranio Toxo. At the same time he was providing his services as an escort for group of children for the summer school programs.
Also, with the completion of his third practice at the Social Welfare services he collaborated with the Immediate Intervention Team of the Ministry Of Education and Culture as a counselor for antisocial youth behavior. Later he was employed by Strovolos School Board as a School Escort for children with antisocial behavior for seven years and during his employment he worked with children of various backgrounds such as children with behavioral and social problems as well as children with learning disabilities.
During his employment as a school escort at a high school, he was also providing his services as a School Social Worker in collaboration with the school teachers and the principle and he was conducting workshops aiming the personal development and integration of children. More extensively, Stelios was working for the inclusion of Down syndrome children in the school system.
