Special Envoy On the Rights of the Child

Appointment

The Director General's main responsibility, is to work with and for children and young people. In this regard, he has decided to establish the position of Special Envoy on the Right of the Child, aiming to advocate, while addressing at the same time, the development needs and rights of children and young people. Finally, the position of Special Envoy on the Right of the Child, is also aiming to promote stronger participation of the children and young people with the organization.

Role

The position of Special Envoy on the Rights of the Child, has the mandate to give a voice to children and young people worldwide, and in particular to the international institutions and, or to the European community. Moreover, the Special Envoy on the Rights of the Child will also work closely with different UN Agencies, Governments, Civil Society, Academia and Media stakeholders towards enhancing, empowering and strengthening the position of children and young people within and outside the society.
